What’s up Maschine Masters fam It’s your boy 88Kezz back with another product review. This time we’re taking a look at LACK OF AFRO’S SOULFUL BREAKS from them boys over at LOOPMASTERS.

A follow up to their 4 star rated Analogue Soul this is a collection of soulful drumbreaks, one shots, loops and sample patches. All recorded live to tape using a Fostex R8 Reel to Reel and a vintage 1950 Premier drum kit for a true analogue feel. Soultone cymbals and Coles Ribbon microphones, Universal pre amps and plugins also contribute to the funky old school grittiness that this break pack delivers, and deliver is what it does in more ways than one.

Airy yet solid kicks, crisp punchy snares, well-tuned hi hats and cymbals with smooth rhythmic percussion all drive this well mixed and well mastered arrangement of exquisite sounds. Perfectly suited for your next neo soul or late-night funk production and/or remix. Each of the 62 that’s right 62 grooves contain 10 loops and feature a barrage of variations (full drum kit with percussion, full drum kit without percussion, just snare, just kick, just percussion, just tambourine and much more spread across 13 different tempos 80 to 140 bpm to allow for maximum flexibility to mix, match, chop and screw. Whatever suits your production needs this kit has got it, and if needed the one shot library can be tweaked to fit any of your compositions as well.

Sample patches are compatible with many of today’s popular samplers Kong, Kontakt, NNXT, Halion, SFZ, and EXS24 to name a few. There are even Rex files here for those who roll with Dr Octorex just load the patch and do your thang

In closing I would like to add this kit is a soulful treasure, a go to for inspiration as well as a perfect addition to your arsenal so head over to Loopmasters and cop this pack well worth it.
