Atmospheric Vinyl Breaks Review

Atmospheric Vinyl Breaks Review

What up MM! Ant Smith back to deliver another review and today I will be indulging into the Atmospheric Vinyl Breaks by Loopmasters. Loopmasters is a well established database for any producer looking for Loops, Drum Breaks, Vocals and More. Their aim is to reduce the amount of time a producer spends digging through crates, by providing Loops and Breaks via a digital download. Each pack is tailor made to a specific genre or sound so there’s plenty of variety on offer at Loopmasters, so make sure you check them out.

Atmospheric Vinyl Breaks is packed full of the below content all in 24 bit quality. The pack is also available in Apple Loops format:

  • 30 Break Kits including Loops & Hits made up of the following:
  • 28 Drum Loops
  • 12 Atmos Loops
  • 15 Dusty FX Loops
  • 14 Percussion Loops
  • 6 FX
  • 5 Bass Hits
  • 47 Kicks
  • 38 Snares
  • 35 Hats
  • 33 Percs
  • 10 Cymbals
  • 5 Rolls
  • 35 Soft Sampler Patches for NNXT, Halion, SFZ, Kontakt & EXS24
  • 78-132BPM

I like my folders organized in a certain way and I can say myself and Loopmasters are not aligned, but at least there is some form of organization. Each Full Loop has its own dedicated folder containing the full loop, breaks and any one shots that go with it. I really like the fact they provide the individual sounds aswell as a few stems. Its something I can work with quickly and easily, However I am not concerned where they come from. For example, if I like a Kick im going to use it. Same with a Snare, a Hat and so on. I would prefer to see individual folders for the Full Loops, Breaks, Kicks, Snares, FX etc, It would have eased the pain of tagging. Although you can kind of understand why they have organized it by Loops, as they all have there relative BPM (78-132BPM).

Vinyl Breaks also delivers a bonus folder, which is dissected, into 4 juicy folders Kicks, Snares, Hats and Percs. This sort of organization should’ve been carried through to the Loops. Tagging was a very easy and pain free process.

As you can imagine, the Loops and Drums will bring your beat to life and give you that atmosphere you are looking for. The Drums deliver an amazing amount of Reverb that is beautiful to the ear. The Snares are Crisp and Crunchy. The Hats are very vibrant and from the first moment I dug in I could see how flexible this pack is. I enjoyed chopping up the Loops and giving my fingers a little workout. Atmospheric Vinyl Breaks isn’t just about Loops and Drums. If you make the purchase you will also receive a very decent handful of Vinyl FX (Dust, Crackle etc). This pack is unique and aimed at Hip-Hop, Trip Hop, Trap, Urban, Breakbeat, Chillout, Electronic and downtempo producers.

Atmospheric Vinyl Breaks can be copped from LOOPMASTERS.COM for a value of $29. The price tag is reasonable for what is on offer. I have to confess I’m not a big user of Breaks. I would have liked to see a bit more meat on this kit, but the great sounding drums is enough to convince me that the requested $29 is just about reasonable.

Until next time you can catch me at @UKAntSmith.
