MPC Boom Bap Drumkit Vol.1 Review

MPC Boom Bap Drumkit Vol.1 Review

What’s up my Machine Masters fam 88 Kezz here to bring you my review of North Sound Kits MPC BOOM BAP DRUM KIT VOLUME 1. It’s the company’s first collection of stems ripped strait from North P produced tracks. The kit contains 100+sounds (kicks snares hi-hats) all processed, recorded and produced through the legendary MPC 2500’s analog outputs to give your productions that old school grittiness that the MPC family is known for. All sounds are crisp, punchy and solid with a true organic feel, pure ear candy if you ask me. Compatible with all samplers and DAW’S (Reason Pro Tools Ableton Logic FL Studio etc.) and comes only in wave format but can be converted to suit your needs.

There are no cymbals, crashes, breaks or loops just a straight forward collection of one shots which I found quite strange. Upon further analysis I also found some of the stems sounded similar which was a disappointment but with a little tweaking can be rectified. All in all it’s a good (not great drum kit) but the quality of sound design and engineering more than make up for what this pack may not have. With a price tag of $25 dollars US it’s worth copping, despite a few limitations the quality is good.
