Minty Breaks 3 Review
What’s up my MM fam, it’s your homie The Maschine Gang General E52BEATS here with another review. Today I’m bringing you my thoughts on the new release from the Drum Broker…Minty Breaks 3. This couldn’t have come at a better time, it’s a snow storm here in NYC so it’s nothing I like more than to sit in my studio and audition new sounds. The Minty Breaks 3 are 114 breaks that come in 2 folders… 57 in each (16 Bit) and (24 Bit). I would liked to have seen it in 12 Bit as well (hint).
As I started going thru the 1st folder it instantly put me in the mind frame of Large Professor. He is one of the best producers to flip a breakbeat and turn them into something extraordinary, think Hip Hop from his 1st Class album or The Break from Beatz Vol.1 these were some classic records that took breaks to a higher level. People often take breaks for granted. They don’t see the work that went into chopping them up and reprogramming them. Sure, some people just loop the break and keep it moving, and theres nothing wrong with that, but I like to see a break chopped and made into something totally different. The Minty Breaks 3 gives you plenty to work with here. You should be able to come up with a nice new stash of drum kits once you get your hands on these breaks.
My favorite break was easily BREAK47DRTEC because of the tight drums and Boom Bapness (feel free to use that term) but thats not to say I didn’t enjoy the rest of the breaks any less. I’m sure once you start to go thru these breaks you’ll find a few to call your own. Now do yourself a favor and go get this kit. Peace
