Ichiban Presents Live From Manhattan: Preview

Ichiban Presents Live From Manhattan: Preview

Willie B aka Ichiban Don aka Willie Brown presents his instrumental project Live From Manhattan. As a follow up to his July release of Ichiban: Sounds In HD, Live From Manhattan is an instrumental tape from the TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) producer who was worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes, Freddie Gibbs, Wale as well as Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab Soul

As you know we always like to bring you quality content, so before I posted this I wanted to check it out for myself. I was immediately drawn in by the intro track Welcome to NYC. Reason being is that familiar Ronnie Foster sample Mystic Brew originally used in A Tribe Called Quest’s Electric Relaxation off the Midnight Marauders Album. After listening further to their conversation I began to reminisce about growing up in Harlem NYC and why we hardly ever went to mid town Manhattan to shop. High ASS prices!!

But moving on to the next track Good Mawnin. This track is smooth with hard hittin drums. Love the melody and the little vocal chop adds a nice accent to it! The next joint up is Heavee which has a more funky vibe but the drums def knock in this joint too. The last joint I was able to listen to was an airy track titled Whips. This joint reeked with dirt and filth (thats a great thing in hiphop), from the reversed sample to the dusty bass. Again the female vox gave some extra spice.

All in all from what I was able to preview this is a project def worth checking out. Besides its only 5 bucks for 19 exclusive instrumentals. If you do decide to, tell em Maschine Masters sent you! You can purchase Willie B’s Live From Manhattan beat tape at ichibandon.com
