Sean Divine 336 Kit Review

Sean Divine 336 Kit Review

Aye, wutup sound junkiez! It’s ya boy X, back with another review. This one here is another Producers Choice joint, the 336 Kit by Sean Divine. The 3 main components, 36 Kicks, 36 Snares, and 36 Claps, are where the kit apparently gets its name from. But you will also get some hats, percs, and a couple other folders. I’ll be honest, I kind of thought this was going to be a really trapped out kit with lots of stuff I already have too much of… like 808’s. 808’s in every shape and form, run thru the hottest outboard gear, and recorded on only the best blah blah… but I was wrong. It’s not. Not at all.

Instead what I heard was a refreshing blast of Kicks, Snares, Claps, Percussion and more. One of the first things I noticed is that these sounds appear to be “mixed” already, and many of them are effected (wet) already as well. Some producers may not like that, but others will absolutely love it! For all you beat makers that hate having to search through FX to find and tweak something to the point where you forget what it was you originally even wanted, you’ll definitely love these wet sounds. But don’t get me wrong, even the seasoned cats will have no problem finding stuff they can use in this kit.

As for the sounds that do have reverb on them already, the verbs sound pretty cool. They add a nice ambience to the sounds, without being too big or overbearing where they will clash with other elements in a mix. But then of course it’s all how you use them! In this case you won’t have to do too much, as these are mixed, effected and ready to use right out the gate!

In addition to Kicks, Snare, Claps, Hats, Percs, you’ll find a folder of some Loops to help spark your creative fire. There is also a folder of FX type sounds, with blips, bass drops, some vox stabs, plus a couple falls and wobbles. And is if THAT wasn’t enough, there is even a Bonus folder called “when 808’s Attack” in which you will find 14 punchy 808 kicks to add to your collection. You’re not gonna find any plain vanilla sounds in here. These are more like sounds dripping in Hot Sauce. I can honestly say that I have actually used several sounds from this kit in a couple recent joints of my own!

As always, and whenever possible, I encourage you to not just take my word for it… Check out the audio demo and then head on over to ProducersChoice.com to pick this one up! It’s only $24.99, so don’t sleep!
